ClassDojo takes classroom management to a whole new level! This free tool allows teachers to record their students' behavior at the touch of a button. Teachers are able to record real-time data, and allow the students, parents, and administrators to receive updates on all or a specific student's successes and other issues throughout the school day. This is a great tool for any classroom, especially in the elementary grades.
Sheppard Software is a free online resource overflowing with educational games for most content areas and for preschool aged children to adults. Teachers can rest assured that their students are learning while also having fun if their students are visiting this site. This tool can be utilized as a center activity or as a group activity on an Interactive White Board (IWB).
Starfall is an online resource that engages nonreaders and early readers in phonics instructional games. Designed for Pre-K - 2nd Grade, Starfall was created to engage students with games and activities centered around phonics and phonemic awareness instruction. This resource is great for English Language Learning students (ELLs) as well as for students with disabilities. Kahoot! is an online game-based student response system, allowing teachers to create a game show in their classroom! Edmodo is an educational social network allowing students to connect with their teachers in a secure and professional manner. Not only is it a social networking tool but it also allows teachers to post quizzes, assignments, instructional videos and can be utilized for the implementation of a flipped classroom. There are endless possibilities for the use of Edmodo, students can connect with each other, join other student groups, and teachers can join other education professional groups and access a multitude of professional development videos posted by other teachers. This online tool takes social networking to a new level by allowing students to learn as they socialize.
